Michael Leon is a Miami-based writer-director who builds moody, creature-led worlds you somehow want to visit.
He grew up drawing monsters and robots in the margins of his notebooks and never really stopped, turning that instinct into the short films Stillborn and In the Dark, stylized stories about ordinary people confronting things that shouldn't exist. Between them they earned 40-plus festival awards.
Michael has directed spots for Fireball Whisky, 1/ST Racing, and Mountain Dew. He runs a small studio inside his head (concept, shoot, VFX, post) because the surest way to protect a weird idea is to make sure no one needs to translate it on the way to the screen.
He's bilingual in English and Spanish, still a skateboarder at heart, and prefers his music on vinyl because… it's just cooler. He's developing a slate of projects that all, somehow, involve creatures. He cannot explain why and has stopped trying.
